ORLANDO, FL -- Florida Atlantic University looks to retain its hold on first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference South Division when it faces the University of Central Florida Saturday afternoon it Orlando. The game begins at 3:00pm at UCF Arena and will be broadcast live on WLVJ 1040-AM. FAU brings in a season-long four-game winning streak and has won six of its past eight games overall. The Lady Owls are 6-9 and 4-0 in the A-Sun. Tamica Pierce leads the team with 13.2 points per game while Crystal Boyland is averaging 11.3. FAU is off to its best start in the A-Sun since opening 5-0 in 1999-00. The Lady Owls are coming off a two-game sweep at home of Troy State and Mercer last weekend. FAU's last three wins have come by a total of nine points, including a come-from-behind 77-76 victory over Mercer on January 18. UCF enters the game with a 7-8 record overall and is 3-1 in the A-Sun South. The Golden Knights are tied with Troy State one game behind FAU. UCF is led by Takira Allen, who is averaging 10.3 points per game. FAU trails the all-time series 14-6 and is 3-7 at UCF Arena. The road team won both games last year, and the teams have split the season series the past three years.
