BOILING SPRINGS, NC - Florida Atlantic University will play its third straight road game Monday night when it faces Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, NC. The game begins at 6:00pm at the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center and can be heard on WLVJ 1040-AM and www.fausports.com. FAU will look to build off of its 80-78 victory at Campbell on Saturday afternoon. FAU is 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the A-Sun while GWU is 1-11 and 0-5. In the Campbell win, Shontavia Williams posted 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Trineca McCleod also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Owls led most of the game and by as many as 15 points with less than seven minutes left. Campbell rallied to within one point before FAU held on for the win. McCleod leads FAU with 15.6 points per game. The Bulldogs opened the season with 10 losses before defeating North Carolina A&T on January 14. Sequenta Blackman leads the team with 13.2 points per game. GWU is 4-21 in A-Sun play since joining the conference last season. This is just the second meeting between the two teams. FAU won the only other meeting, 59-57, last year at FAU Gymnasium. FAU is seeking its first two-game winning streak of the season.
