Women's Basketball Gears Up for UCF

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will take on Central Florida for the second time this season when it faces the Golden Knights Tuesday in Orlando. Tip-off is set for 5:00pm at UCF Arena. The game will be broadcast on WLVJ 1040-AM as well as Sunshine Network. The Lady Owls enter the game 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The game will be televised live at 5:00pm and again at 11:00pm.

FAU is coming off a 72-67 loss to Georgia State Saturday at home. The game was the third straight loss for the Lady Owls, by a combined 13 points. Trineca McCleod leads FAU with 14.8 points and 6.6 rebounds. Shontavia Williams is averaging 11.3 points per game.

UCF enters the game with a 4-8 record and a 3-2 mark in the A-Sun. The Golden Knights have lost two straight games, both at UCF Arena, to Georgia State and Mercer by a combined 10 points. UCF is lked by Celeste Hudson, who averages 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Takira Allen is tossing in 11.0 points per game.

Central Florida leads the all-time series 17-6. The Golden Knights defeated the Lady Owls 71-62 back on December 4 at FAU Gymnasium. In that game, FAU never led as it was held to just 25 percent shooting. FAU is 3-8 on the road against UCF.

The game will be the first of three straight for Florida Atlantic on the road. FAU faces Campbell on January 17 and Gardner-Webb on January 19.
