 Women's Basketball Downed By Kentucky
Dec. 30, 2000 LEXINGTON, KY - Florida Atlantic University fell to the University of Kentucky 112-71 Saturday night in a non-conference match-up in Lexington, KY. It was the final non-conference game of the season for the Lady Owls as they dropped to 3-8 overall. Tammy Vaughn led FAU with 18 points, 16 in the second half, while Julie Goad had a career-high 16 points. UK (4-7) led the entire way as they jumped out to an early 24-9 lead en route to a 54-26 lead at the half. The Wildcats forced 36 FAU turnovers as they outscored Lady Owls 46-12 off of turnovers. UK also outrebounded FAU 46-32. Kentucky's LaTonya McDole led all scorers with 28 points as the Wildcats placed five players in double figures.
