The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team struggled with turnovers throughout Tuesday night's game with Arkansas State. The Owls turned the ball over a season-high 37 times in a 72-46 loss to the Lady Indians.

The Owls got off to a good start early. Breana Cox knocked down her first four shots from the field and FAU held its biggest lead five and a half minutes into the game at 13-6. From there the Owls struggled with turnovers, and Arkansas State went on a 14-0 run to take a lead they would not relinquish. Arkansas State led 32-23 at the half, and continued to cruise from there as they went on an 11-2 run to start the second half to put the game out of reach. Ebonie Jefferson led the way for the Lady Indians with 20 points.

"It was a very bad display of basketball," said Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. "We had trouble all night just making simple passes."

The Owls were led by Cox, who had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Jones also tossed in a career-high 10 points, however she also commited seven turnovers to lead FAU with their season-high mark. FAU struggled from the floor in the seconf half, they shot eight of 29, only hitting 27 percent of their shots in the second stanza.

Three players scored double digits for Arkansas State (6-4, 1-0 Sun Belt), led by Jefferson's 20. Veronica Smith also scored 16 on two of five shooting from the perimeter. Sherina Scott added 11 points and had a game-high 14 rebounds.
