BIRMINGHAM, AL - Kristy Halvorsen scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Florida Atlantic University to a 89-72 victory over Samford University Saturday afternoon in Birmingham, AL. With the victory, FAU concludes its regular season with a 15-13 record and a 13-7 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference play. Janka Deckerova added a season-high 20 points in the win as FAU set a new team record with 13 A-Sun victories while tying the school's Division I record of 15 wins set two years ago.

FAU outrebounded Samford 48-39 including 23-9 on the offensive glass. FAU also forced 27 Bulldog turnovers and held a 27-11 advantage in points off turnovers.

Deckerova's effort included a career-tying four three-point field goals. He was the only other Lady Owl in double figures.

Samford (3-24, 2-18 A-Sun) outshot FAU 46 percent to 39 percent. The Bulldogs were led by Clarissa Clark, who scored 12 points.

FAU finishes the regular season in a three-way tie for second place in the A-Sun with Central Florida and Belmont. The Lady Owls will next take part in the A-Sun Tournament beginning Thursday in Troy, AL.
