BUIES CREEK, NC - Florida Atlantic University was defeated by Campbell University, 62-55, Saturday afternoon in Atlantic Sun Conference action in Buies Creek, NC. Mistoria Brown led FAU with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sharia Young and Jackie Brown each had 10. The loss drops FAU to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Campbell (5-8, 4-3 A-Sun) stormed out to a 16-4 lead before FAU came back with a 13-0 run and led 17-16. The Lady Owls led by as much as 31-25 before taking a 32-27 lead into halftime.

FAU struggled offensively in the second half, making just 10 of its 36 attempts from the field. The Lady Owls went 1-for-17 from beyond the arc in the second half as Campbell eventually took the lead for good at 43-42 with 9:26 left on an Amber Graham three-pointer. Graham finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Campbell led by as many as nine points with 47 seconds left as FAU couldn't get any closer than five points the rest of the way.

FAU shot 34 percent for the game compared to Campbell's 39 percent. The Camels outrebounded the Lady Owls 46-37 and went 19-for-24 from the foul line. FAU forced 29 turnovers and committed 22.

Florida Atlantic next faces Georgia State January 20 at FAU Gymnasium.
