Final Stats

BOCA RATON, FL - Lawrence Harradine and Marc Abdelnour led Florida Atlantic University's men's tennis to a 7-0 victory at Bethune-Cookman College to give the Owls a 16-7 regular-season record and the momentum needed as they head into Sun Belt Conference Championship play this weekend.

Abdelnour and Eddie Majcher made quick work in doubles play with an 8-0 victory over Jeff Smallwood and Christian Cruz. The remaining two doubles teams followed suit to pick up the first point of the match.

Singles play began with Abdelnour capturing court one at 6-3, 6-0. The victory improved the sophomore to 24-6 on the year in singles play. Lawrence Harradine played up in the Bethune match and captured a 6-3, 6-1 win over Christian Cruz. The victory improved Harradine's regular-season record to a team leading 25-6.

But the match was capture for the Owls on court no. six where freshman Santiago Nieto won in convincing fashion at 6-0, 6-2.

FAU will next compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships hosted by the University of North Texas. Tournament play will begin April 17 in Denton, TX. Tournament seeds will be announced Tuesday evening.

"It's a wide open tournament that we will enter with confidence and enthusiasm," said Brandon Stokes, FAU's head coach. "We are prepared for a three-day competitive battle to earn a bid to the NCAA tournament."
