DeLAND, FL - Florida Atlantic University was edged by Stetson University, 4-3, Saturday in Atlantic Sun Conference men's tennis action in DeLand, FL. The Hatters took the doubles point and held on to win three singles matches to defeat the Owls. The loss drops FAU to 6-10 on the year and 2-3 in the A-Sun. Stetson improves to 15-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Hatters swept all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. A win at no. 4 singles gave Stetson a 2-0 lead. The Owls pulled to within 2-1 when F.J. Schofield defeated Joey Jones, 7-5, 6-2, at no. 2. Stetson made it 3-1 with a win at no. 1 before David Demers picked up a straight-sets victory at no. 3 to make it 3-2. Mauricio Paiz then defeated Trevor Bach, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, at no. 6 to tie the match at 3-3. The Hatters clinched the win with a victory at no. 5.

Florida Atlantic returns home and will next host Barry Tuesday at 3:00pm.
