![]() Men's Tennis Picks Up Two SBC Wins

Facing three Sun Belt Conference teams this week, the No. 52 Florida Atlantic University's men's tennis team picked up two wins this weekend in the conference after it defeated UALR and Troy 4-3, 6-1, respectively. The Owls improve to 11-4 on the year. In the first match of the weekend against UALR (12-8), the Owls dropped the doubles point but rebounded with four singles wins. FAU won at the top three doubles spots and Eddie Majcher picked up a win at no. 6. Playing at the no. 1 spot Marc Abdelnour came away with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory. Olivier Sajous needed tie breakers to earn a 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4) win over Rain Roigas. Corey Smith picked up the deciding win with an exciting 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5) win over Edson Abrao to seal the win for the Owls. The Troy Trojans (4-9) did not put up the same test for the Owls as they only took one singles and one doubles match. Abdelnour, Sajous and Smith all took decisive wins in the top three singles spots, while Daniel Vardag was tested by Edwin van Aerts before taking a 7-6, 7-5 victory. Lawrence Harradine played no. 6 singles and earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Andrey Morozov. #52 Florida Atlantic 4, UALR Trojans 3
