Final Stats

Boca Raton, FL - David Demers and Gianfranco Dossena picked up victories Saturday in Florida Atlantic University's 5-2 loss to Atlantic Sun Conference member Stetson University.

Demers, the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week, defeated Joey Jones 7-6, 0-1 (ret.) to improve his current win-streak to three, all at the no. 2 position. He also teamed with Kevin Obletz at no. 1 doubles to defeat Marcus Echtler/Sergei Boulanov 8-2 to improve his current doubles match win-streak to two.

Dossena was the next to last Owl to come off the court but, he was the final FAU point defeating Birger Soiland 6-3, 7-6 (7).

"This was a spirited, hard-fought tennis match," said David Komie, FAU's head coach. "We still need to do better at no. 2 and no.3 doubles and at no. 6 singles. We'll continue to work hard so that we continue to improve throughout the season."

FAU will next play host to UCF, 11 a.m., February 19 at Patch Reef Park.
