Florida Atlantic University, ranked 55th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, was defeated 4-3 in its season opener at 20th ranked University of Miami. Doug Devriendt, Martin Jirak, and Andre Buzzoni each picked up singles victories for the Owls after FAU dropped the doubles point in a three-match sweep.

FAU next hosts Stetson February 11 at 11:00am.
