FAU's Ogle Named Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Week
Oct. 22, 2007
BOCA RATON, FL - Junior midfielder Liam Ogle became the second member of the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team to earn the Atlantic Soccer Conference's Player of the Week award this season, the league announced on Monday. Ogle scored his third and fourth goals of the season in two games of action this week. The first score came against the seventh-ranked University of Virginia Cavaliers in a hard-fought 4-2 loss on October 16. The second served as the game-winner over conference rival Philadelphia University in a 1-0 home victory Saturday. The Newcastle, England native leads the Owls with 10 points this season (4G, 2A). He ranks second in both shots (27) and shots-on-goal (13), while playing in all 14 games thus far for FAU. This was the fourth time an Owls player has been honored by the conference in 2007. Junior midfielder Igor Santos collected Player of the Week honors after scoring both goals in a 2-0 conference win at New Jersey Institute of Technology on September 21.
Sophomore Phillip Lamarre earned Goalkeeper of the Week accolades after a two-shutout performance in mid-September, while freshman midfielder Gianni Piccoletti was named Rookie of the Week following his double-overtime winning-goal against Iona on September 14.
