BOCA RATON, FL - After experiencing both ends of the emotional spectrum in their two matches last week, the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team begins a stretch of six straight Atlantic Sun games when they host Campbell this Thursday night and Gardner-Webb on Saturday evening.

The Owls took their first conference loss of the season on Friday as they fell 1-0 in overtime to UCF. A disputed overtime penalty gave the Knights the golden-goal victory and extended their streak over the Owls to four games. Sunday morning's game against Oneonta State ended in just as spectacular fashion when Bjorn Totland's volley with five seconds left in regulation gave the Owls a 1-0 win.

Campbell (3-6-1, 2-2) come into Boca Raton having won three consecutive games after starting the season 0-6-1. The Camels streak began with a 2-1 win over Elon which was followed by a 3-0 win over Stetson and a 2-1 defeat of Jacksonville.

Freshmen Alex Bruemmer and Willy Guadarrama have been the catalysts for the Camels over the past four games that have seen them turn their season around. Bruemmer has three goals and an assist and Guadarrama has four goals and two assists over that span. Bruemmer was named A-Sun offensive player-of-the-week on Monday for his efforts.

FAU leads the all-time series 7-1 and have won the past seven meetings. Last year's contest saw the Owls score twice in the last seven minutes of regulation for a 3-2 victory.

Gardner-Webb have struggled so far in 2004 and sit at the bottom of the A-Sun. The Bulldogs (2-10, 0-4) have been outscored 25-8 in their 12 games and have failed to score a goal in seven of those contests. They have also been out-shot 231-104.

Brian Wentzel leads the team with three goals and seven points while sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Kettering leads the NCAA in total saves with 91 and is second in saves-per-game with 7.58.

FAU leads the all-time series 3-0 and have out-scored the Bulldogs 20-2 in those meetings. The 2003 game ended in a 6-0 Owl victory.
