Owls Prep for Busy Week

Oct. 4, 2005

BOCA RATON, FL -- After a six-game road-trip, the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team will finally be able to see their home field.

The Owls (3-6) return to face in-state rival South Florida on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Bulls (6-3) are surging since entering Big East Conference play, winning each of their last five contests.

FAU will need strong play from their senior goalkeeper Anders Granstad to keep USF in check. He has been strong of late, allowing just three goals in his past four games while registering two shutouts.

Jordan Seabrook, the Bulls' top scorer, is also on a roll. He tallied two goals and an assist against Villanova, and was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2.

In their busiest week of the season, the Owls will then head back on the road to North Florida, where they will begin their Atlantic Sun conference schedule. Game-time is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. It will mark the first time the two teams have met.

FAU will then return home for a home match against Jacksonville on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Owls are 2-1 in the last three seasons against JU, but two of those games have gone to overtime, with each team taking one of the extended contests.
