FAU-FIU Game Rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 22
Sept. 14, 2004 Miami, FL - Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team will face crosstown-rival Florida International in Miami Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. The game was originally scheduled as FIU's season-opener on Friday, Sept. 3, as part of the FIU Diadora Classic, but Hurricane Frances forced the cancellation of the tournament. FIU (1-1-0) holds the 23-2-1 all-time series advantage over the Owls (1-1-0). Last year the teams tied 1-1 after double overtime in Boca Raton. Gustavo Alencar assisted on the game-tying goal when Bjorn Totland's shot from the top of the box sailed past the Golden Panther keeper in the 26th minute. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Pharmed Arena Ticket Office. Owl fans can charge by phone via Ticketmaster in Miami-Dade at (305) 358-5885, in Broward at (954) 523-3309, in Palm Beach at (561) 966-3309 or online at ticketmaster.com and FIUsports.com
