BUIES CREEK, N.C -- Two Campbell goals in the final 10 minutes doomed the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team Saturday as they fell to the Camels 3-2, in a match that determined the regular-season champion.

Down 1-0 early after Sonny Guadarrama scored just 1:33 into the game, the Owls would counter with a score in the 42nd minute from Leonardo De Mata. The freshman dropped a shot over the head of CU keeper Aaron Johnson to bring the teams even at one.

Junior Andrew Helm played outstanding in his first game as an Owl. He nearly scored in the 20th minute, but his shot sailed just over the crossbar. He would redeem himself early in the second-half when his shot in the 51st minute found the back of the net for his first goal as an Owl. His tally put FAU in front 2-1. Helm transferred to FAU after two years at USF.

The score would remain 2-1 for the next 30 minutes, before the Camel offense came alive. The Camels would score on consecutive shots, the first coming in the 81st minute off the foot of Chris Price. Price hadn't scored a goal in nearly two years, but he couldn't have picked a better time to break through, with his goal tying the game at two late in the second-half.

Just four minutes later, the nation's leading scorer Willy Guadarrama would net his 20th goal of the season to give CU the final advantage, 3-2.

The Owls have just one regular season contest remaining. They will face Gardner-Webb Sunday at 1 p.m. The outcome of that game has direct impact on where the Owls will finish in the conference standings. If they win, they will earn the #2 seed, and the all-important first-round bye. If they tie the Bulldogs, they will finish where they currently sit as the #3 seed and face #6 Belmont. If they should lose, they will be the #4 seed and face #5 Jacksonville. The schedule for the first round has yet to be determined.
