Sep. 3, 2000

MIAMI, FL -

Playing a man down, due to penalty. Florida Atlantic University (0-2) lost its momentum and fell to the University of Dayton 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the Florida International University Golden Panther Classic.

The two teams played evenly through the first half with FAU having a slight advantage and played with strong defense with Jonas Kolstad blocking a Flyers penalty kick. The Owls had two strong opportunities but could not net the ball despite one-on-one opportunities by Christopher Carvajal and Bjorn Masson.

Momentum swung back and fourth until 10 minutes into the second half, when a FAU player received a red card and was forced to play a man down. Playing a man up, the Flyers dominated the remainder of the game out shooting FAU 8-3.

For the game, Dayton out shot FAU 13-9 and earned four goalie saves. FAU's Jonas Kolstad had eight saves in the match.
