Men's Soccer Falls to UIC 5-0

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team lost to Illinois-Chicago 5-0 on Sunday.

It was the first home loss for the Owls this season.

The two teams played even through most of the first half until UIC forward Pavle Dundjer put a free kick in from 20 yards out to give the Flames the lead.

Brodey Simpkins scored the next two goals, once in the 43rd minute then again in the 46th minute on a ball that was mishandled by FAU defender Ryan Kinsley.

Cesar Zambrano then scored two goals to give UIC their final margin of victory. The loss drops the Owls to 2-5-0.

FAU returns to action on Friday when it opens Atlantic Soccer Conference play against Longwood. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
