Golf Tryout Information

1. You must e-mail head coach Angelo Sands as soon as possible if you want to tryout. Please include your name, mailing address and phone number.

2. You must e-mail Coach Sands your NCAA Clearinghouse registration # by August. 1

3. You must have completed orientation.

4. You must have a minimum of 12 credit hours for the Fall semester. Classes must be scheduled

* Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in the morning

* Tuesday and Thursday at anytime.

5. Tryouts will be held September 6, 7, 13, 14 at 1:45 p.m. at the Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course. If you would like to take part in practice rounds, they will be offered at a student rate with our Owl card or other student ID. All fees for the practice rounds are the student's responsibility. There is no fee for the tryout rounds.

6. Any incoming student-athlete contacting me must send me a golf and academic resume. From that resume, I will decide if you can walk-on.

7. After contacting Coach Sands you will be mailed a physical form which must be completed before you can tryout.

All of the rules must be met before you can tryout, including the physical form to the FAU training staff. You will also need to bring a health insurance card with you to the tryouts. A health insurance card must always be in your possession. If you every need to see a doctor or visit a hospital, the first question you will be asked is proof of hospitalization and you must then show your card.

8. Everyone must be present for President Brogan's address at the Arts & Letters Auditorium 5:45 p.m. Monday, August 25. No food or drinks are permitted. You will need to show I.D. at the door.

9. If any of you are looking for a roommate, please contact me so I can forward your name to the team. 10. There are two forms that must be completed. They can be found at Athletic Director Craig Angelos' desk at the Tom Oxley Athletic Center (second floor). Check off your name, complete form and put back in folder. Also complete Apparel form and the Address form.

11. Welcome BBQ is Sunday, August 24th at 6 p.m. in the FAU Arena. 12. Under NCAA rules the first day of practice is Wednesday, September 17th (After Tryouts). Meeting 3 p. - 6 p.m. Dinner is 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
