Men's Golf Maintains Third Place

Nov. 12, 2001

DeLand, FL - Florida Atlantic University shot one-over par as a team Monday to maintain sole possession of third place at the Stetson Intercollegiate in DeLand, FL. The Owls fired a 289 at the par-72 Southridge Golf Club and trail second-place Stetson by six strokes with one round to play.

Matt Anderson took top honors for the Owls in Monday's second round with his second consecutive 71. Paul Rifenberg and Josh Kaplan each improved over Sunday's first round with even-par performances on Monday. Teammate Michael Bailey finished with a two-over 74 after Sunday's three-under par score while Scott Kennedy finished with a 76 in round two.

The 11-team field will take part in Tuesday's final round beginning at 7:30am.
