Howie In The Hills, FL- The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team finished 11 out of 15 teams at the Mission Inn Intercollegiate Classic in Howie In The Hills, Florida. The two day, three round event was played at the Mission Inn Resort- El Campeon Course (par 71/6,668 yards).

With four sophomores and one freshman representing FAU, the Owls were one of the youngest line ups at the tournament and only finished one stroke out of a top 10 team placing. Sophomore Kelly McHugh and freshman Sterling Searcy Jr. tied for 31st overall, averaging rounds of four-over par 75. FAU (302-304-297; 903) out-scored Villanova University, Boston College, Savannah State University and Florida A&M University. Western Kentucky, who finished fourth in the conference last year, was the only other Sun Belt Conference school at the tournament and finished 5th, 17 strokes in front of Florida Atlantic.

FAU men's golf will next play on Monday, October 13 at the PGA National course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
