Daytona Beach, FL. - The men's golf team of Florida Atlantic University continued its string of sub-300 rounds by shooting a team round of 294, a one-stroke improvement from the previous day, to maintain fifth place in the 2003 Atlantic Sun Championship at Indigo Lakes Golf Club. Joel Gibbons was one of eight golfers in the 60-player field to shoot under par as he moved into a tie of 10th place.

Gibbons, a sophomore transfer from Colorado State University, fired a second-round 70 on the par 72, 6908-yard course, his second lowest round of the year, to jump nine places in the individual standings. Mike Cleary fell eight spots into a tie for 19th place after shooting a three-over par round of 75. Two-time A-Sun Golfer-of-the-Week Matt Anderson improved two strokes from yesterday to finish with a second round 73 to move into 22nd place and Nicolai Syvertsen shot a 76 while Scott Kennedy fired an 82.

FAU (589), which has now shot five consecutive rounds under 300, increased its fifth place standing over Belmont to five-strokes.
