Men's Golf Opens Sun Belt Tournament

Orlando, FL - Florida Atlantic University men's golf completed the first round of the Sun Belt conference tournament on Monday. The event is being held at the par 72, 6,906 yard Magnolia Golf Course at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

Derren Garber (40, 36 -76) shot an even par on the back nine of the opening round, completing the day in a tie for 22nd place. Billy Bowling (40, 37 -77) used a 1-over par showing in the back nine of the first round to end day one in a tie for 32nd. Andrew Storm (41, 37 -78), Adam Kolloff (41, 39 -80) and Michael Berger (41, 40 -81) round out the Owl field with a tie for 39th, 51st, and tie for 52nd.

New Orleans (285) is leading the pack of 12 schools with an impressive 3-under par showing. The Pioneers golfer Jason Kuperman (36, 33 -69) is in first place, shooting 3-under par. FAU (311) is 26 strokes behind in 11th place.

The second round of the three-day event will begin on Tuesday morning.
