Complete Results

Port St. Lucie, FL. - Florida Atlantic University men's golf shot a team low round of 302 to finish seventh at the Treasure Coast WTC Hero's Classic hosted by St. John's University at the PGA Country Club. The Owls shot the third lowest round of the day but it was not enough to overcome a 16-stroke deficit. Matt Anderson finished seventh in the two-day tournament after shooting even on the par 72, 6581-yard course for his third top ten finish of the spring season.

Anderson finished the second day of action one-over par and completed the tournament with a two round total of 144, just two strokes behind winners Andrew Svoboda of St. John's and Jerry Chen of Temple University. Scott Kennedy and Joel Gibbons were able to shoot identical scores from the previous day while Nicolai Syvertsen improved six-strokes to shoot a 76. All three finished in the top 50 out of 95 participants. Tarik Benslimane improved one stroke from yesterday in his first tournament of the year.

The Owls improved their team round by two strokes from the previous day but it was not enough to catch Florida Gulf Coast University who overtook Bethune-Cookman College (587) as the overall champions with consecutive rounds of 292. Liberty University (598), Navy A team (604) and Guilford College (604) round out the top five. FAU was able to finish ahead of half of the teams in the 18 school tournament.

FAU men's golf continues its season when they participate in the Amoco Ultimate-Young Oil Intercollegiate March 31-April 1, in Jacksonville, FL.
