Men's Golf Has Best Outing Of Year

March 9, 2001

TALLAHASSEE, FL -

In its best performance of the year, Florida Atlantic University finished 7th at the Florida A&M Intercollegiate. Scott Kennedy led the Owls with a three-over par 147 in the two-round event as he finished tied for ninth individually. Teammate Matt Anderson finished one stroke behind at 148. Overall, FAU shot a 598, which was 23 strokes of the pace of first-place Campbell University.

The Owls shot a 306 in round one before settling down for a 292 in round two. The second-day result was tied for third among the field of 14 teams as Kennedy fired an even-par 72. Anderson and Tarik Benslamine each fired a one-over par 73 to help the Owls' final round cause.
