Berger Leads the Way on Day One

Tampa, FL - Michael Berger shot a two over par -73 to lead the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team on day one of the Dick WittCoff USF Invitational. Berger shot a 36 on the front nine and posted a 37 on the back half of the course to end round one tied for 14th place.

Freshman Andrew Storm and Mike McMillan each tallied opening round scores of 75 on the par-71, 6,360 yard course known as the "The Claw". Millian took 36 strokes on the front side of the course and added three more swings on the back-nine to record 39 strokes. Storm posted the lowest nine hole score for the owls with a 35 on the front portion of the course and tallied 40 strokes on the back end. Both golfers are sitting in a tie for 28th place.

Adam Kolloff rest in 40th place after recording an opening round mark of 76 (37-39) and Kevin Clark rounded out the Owls scorecard with a score of 78 (40-38).

As team FAU tallied 299 total strokes to finish the day in eighth place. Middle Tennessee State holds the top spot after day one with a mark of 288 strokes. Brady Schnell of Nebraska University nailed a hole-in-one on the par-3, 160-yard fifth hole in route to posting a four under par- 67 to lead all golfers.
 

 

Round two of the Dick WittCoff USF Invitational will begin tomorrow morning with the final round to be played on Sunday.
