Men's Golf Finishes Seventh

Feb. 24, 2002

TAMPA, FL - Florida Atlantic University finished 7th at the USF/Ron Smith Invitational. The Owls shot a 299 in Sunday's final round to finish with a total of 597 for the rain-shortened 36-hole tournament. FAU was led by Matt Anderson's six-over par 148. Nicolai Syvertsen and Michale Bailey each carded a 149. Bailey had the low round of the day for FAU with an even-par 71.

The tournament was scheduled to be 54 holes, but Saturday's second round was cancelled due to rain. The tournament was played on the par-71, 6,830-yard USF Golf Course. Georgia Southern took first place with 574.
