Men's Golf Records Third Straight Top-3 Finish

Charleston, SC -The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team narrowly missed on a second-place finish in its first event of the spring, finishing third with a two-day total of 891 at the 17-team Charleston Southern Spring Invitational Tuesday. The Owls fell just three strokes shy of second-place Campbell, but still managed their third-consecutive top-three finish. Sophomore Tommy Suri (71/75/74) shot a team-leading 220 over three rounds to place ninth, the highest finish of his collegiate career. His opening round 71 was the lowest round of his career. Charlotte transfer Kevin Clark completed his first tournament as an Owl with the team's second-best score, shooting a 224 (74/71/79). Freshman Marco Morales (225 - 78/77/70) finished just one stroke behind Clark, and freshman Joong Jo (226 - 77/69/80) finished a single stroke behind Morales. Jo also shot the lowest round of his collegiate career with his second-round 69. Freshman Michael Berger completed the field for the Owls with his two-day total of 237.
Host Charleston Southern won the tournament with a three-round score of 865. Fredrik Sundberg of second-place Campbell finished first among individuals, shooting a 207.
