Men's Golf Gaining After Second Round

Tampa, FL. - Florida Atlantic University men's golf moved up to fourth place at the USF Invitational held at the University of South Florida golf club and is just 12 strokes back, despite shooting a team round of 306. Three Owls shot a 76 including Matt Anderson who dropped to second place individually.

Anderson, who shot a tournament low 69 the previous day, shot a 76 to put him at a two-round score of 145, three back from the leader Fedrik Ohlsson. Scott Kennedy and Nicolai Syvertsen improved their play from yesterday, as the duo shot 76's each. Kennedy now stands at 11-over 153, good for a tie of 19th place. Joel Gibbons improved one stroke to shoot a 78 and Michael Bailey fired an 86 at the 6830-yard, par 71 course.
 

 

FAU is in a tie for fourth place with USF as both teams hold a two-round score of 610. Jacksonville State University took over the overall team lead as it shot a 306 and now holds a two-round score of 598. The University of South Alabama (600), yesterday's leader, and Central Florida (606) round out the top five.

FAU concludes play at the USF Invitational Sunday, February 23, 2003.
