Charleston, SC -- The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team began its 2006 spring season by carding in 611 strokes over two round rounds at CSU Spring Kickoff Tournament. The Owls recorded 304 strokes in round one and tallied 307 strokes in the second round of the day.

Michael Berger led the Owls on day one with back-to-back rounds of 75 to finish the par-71, 6,579 course at Coosaw Creek Country Club eight over par. Mike McMillan also carded in a 150 (74-76) and is currently tied with Berger in 20th place.

Adam Kolloff finished one stroke back of Berger and McMillan with 151 strokes (75-76) and senior Kevin Clark recorded 154 strokes (76-78) over the first two rounds to rest in a tie at 36th place.

Freshman Andrew Storm -160 (80-80), Mark Washburn -161 (81-80), and Nick Antonelli -164 (87-77) rounded out the Owls' scorecard.

As team FAU is currently in tied in 10th place, while Atlantic Sun conference foe Campbell is atop the leader board tallying 579 strokes (290-289) on day one of the two day event. Duncan Stewart of Jacksonville University carded in a 2-under 140 (74-66) to end the second round in first place.
 

 

The Owls will conclude the three round tournament today at the Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, SC.
