Football Began New Orleans Day Three at a Children's Hospital

Dec. 19, 2007

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Florida Atlantic University's seniors along with quarterback Rusty Smith visited the New Orleans' Children Hospital at mid-day and then moved to the Saints' Practice Facility for their final full practice.

The squad began practice in the indoor facility where they could continue to get accustomed with the turf and playing indoors. The team completed its padless workout with high spirits especially in the closing drills where they marched down the field for a Rob Housler score. The squad then broke for special team work and the last day of player interviews.

FAU will begin Thursday with a player's luncheon where they will be greeted by the cheerleaders, dance team and band. The Owls will then move to the Superdome for pictures and the final walk through prior to Friday's game.

Thursday night will be the first evening where they can enjoy the fellow students who have made the 13 hour bus trip to support their classmates. Fans have also been invited to the Fulton Street Fan Fest for a New Orleans Street Party.

Tickets can be purchased at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel as well as official fan wear. For those who cannot make it to the game, it will air live on ESPN2 or on WMEN 640 AM in the Boca Raton area as well as on www.fausports.com.
