Owls Look to Even Up Sun Belt Record

Oct. 20, 2005

BOCA RATON, FL -- With a record of 1-2 in the Sun Belt Conference, Florida Atlantic University will try to even up its conference mark on Saturday when it takes on Arkansas State.

The Owls were finalizing their game-plan for the Indians during Thursday's practice from the Tom Oxley Athletic fields.

FAU will be playing in its fifth road game of the season as it travels to Jonesboro, AR to battle to the Indians. Florida Atlantic is undefeated on the road against conference opponents this season.

In conference games, the Owls' defense is ranked third in the Sun Belt as they allow just 4.8 yards per play. They will have the tough task of shutting down the top ranked offense of Arkansas State.

The Owls will be without tight end Dantson Dareus as he will miss the game with a sprained left knee.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. eastern. The game will be carried by Sun Sports TV and ESPNU. Owl fans can hear the game on the FAU Football Radio Network, WLVJ 1040-AM and WPSL 1590-AM.
