FAU Football Receives Increased Media Coverage

Aug. 20, 2008

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University football team will enjoy the benefits of its historic 2007 season by having seven of its games broadcast live on television. That total matches FAU's average over the last four years.

The Owls begin the 2008 season at the University of Texas in Austin, which will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest and will be available on pay-per-view nationwide to satellite dish owners. FAU's game against Michigan State University on Saturday, September 13 is the first of four consecutive televised games for the Owls. The game against the Spartans will be available either on ESPN or ESPN2, which will be determined 10 days before the contest. The rematch against the University of Minnesota on Saturday, September 20 will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

FAU will have back-to-back Tuesday night games on ESPN2. The first game will take place on the road at Middle Tennessee State University on September 30 before hosting Troy University on October 7. Both games are scheduled for an 8 p.m. eastern time start. CSS will cover the final two broadcasts of the season, which are both on the road at University Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, October 25 and Arkansas State University on Saturday, November 22. FAU has averaged seven televised games a year over the last four seasons.

All FAU football games will be broadcast on the FAU radio network, which includes WFTL-640AM and WPSL-1590AM, as well as on the web at www.fausports.com. The FAU SportsPage with Coach Howard Schnellenberger also will broadcast live from Coyote Jack's at the FAU Student Union every Monday of the football season from 7 to 8 p.m. Radio personality Dave Lamont will host the show, which will begin on Monday, August 25. Fans are invited to attend and can also call into the show at 1-888-640-WFTL (9385).
