FAU Thursday Practice Report

Aug. 7, 2008

The Florida Atlantic University football team took the field in practice shorts and no pads for their second day of preseason workouts. Practice went for just over two and a half hours, with the second half focused on 7 on 7 drills and implementing plays.

The defensive backs had a solid day as they created many breakups and a few interceptions. Redshirt freshman cornerback Tarvoris Hill had several athletic break-ups. Redshirt senior Ted Czepiga was able to create an interception from his linebacker position by tipping the ball at the line of scrimmage. On the offensive side of the ball, the running backs continued to show their ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Practice ended with the second consecutive day of gassers, or windsprints. FAU will conduct another two and half hour practice tomorrow.

Individual home game tickets start at $12. Season tickets for FAU football also are available, starting at $56 per seat. Family Four Packs are also available for FAU home games and include: four tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks, four bags of chips and four T-shirts for only $55 per game. The home opener at Lockhart stadium is on September 6 at 4pm against the University of Alabama-Birmingham. To purchase tickets CLICK HERE.

Coach Howard Schnellenberger and the rest of the Owls will attend fanfest on Saturday, August 16 beginning at noon at the FAU Track & Field Complex, Boca Raton campus. The event is free and open to the public and will feature FAU's fall sports teams, autographs and an interactive game area for children. FAU's football team also is scheduled to play their first scrimmage of the 2008 pre-season.
