Friday's Final Practice Before Second Scrimmage
April 15, 2005 Florida Atlantic University's football team trotted off the field Friday evening, with the sun going down and the air as crisp as it would be in late Fall. The team received more reps than they would during a normal Fall Friday, all done in an effort to continue getting as much work accomplished as possible.
"We had a good practice today getting as much in as we can before tomorrow (scrimmage)," said FAU head football coach Howard Schnellenberger. "We continue to have injuries. Julian Myers (knee on Wednesday), Antes Perkins (hand) and Anthony Heard (shoulder) were out today." Preparing for the 2 p.m. Saturday scrimmage, FAU ran through as many of its plays as possible, with the expectation that the team will have made adjustments from a week ago. Saturday's scrimmage will be the final scrimmage tune up before the Spring Game scheduled for 2 p.m., April 23. All scrimmages are held on the Tom Oxley Fields and are free and open to the public. Following Saturday's scrimmage, the team will practice 3:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week.
The Spring Game will also be an opportunity for Owl fans to purchase old game jerseys, as well as equipment surpluses: warm-ups, sweats and other athletic gear. The Spring Game will also be an opportunity to purchase 2005 season tickets and will host a kids area with bounce houses.
