Friday was the Final Practice Before the Spring's First Scrimmage
April 7, 2006 Boca Raton, FL - Friday's practice ended a little earlier than usual as the team got in its final work before the first scrimmage of the spring season, scheduled for approximately noon Saturday. The team worked half line drills splitting time between the running and passing games and between ball sides. Contact drills for the line and blocking for the receivers was also stressed in Friday's practice. The team then went into 7-on-7 where Jason Harmon pulled in a long-yardage reception. FAU then moved into team, third and long situations and red zone before calling it a day. The team is scheduled to be on the field 11 a.m. Saturday will work through a few drills and will then begin its scrimmage approximately at noon. The scrimmage is free and is open to the public. For fans that live in the northern portion of the county, members of the team will travel to Port St. Lucie, Tuesday, April 11th. The baseball team will practice near the Florida Atlantic University Port St. Lucie Campus at Tradition Field. The football players will attend to show their support ant to sign autographs. The first 250 fans to the 4 p.m. practice will receive free tickets that will gain them admission into practice and also to the Port St. Lucie Mets game against the Daytona Cubs that evening at 7 p.m. The stadium promotion that night is "Ruby Tuesday/The News/The Tribune 2 for Tuesday".
