Florida Atlantic University and the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) have jointly announced its 2009 schedule.

FAU will open the season Saturday, September 5 in Lincoln, Nebraska versus the University of Nebraska. The 2009 home schedule and conference schedule will open on Saturday, September 26 at 4 p.m., when the Owls play host to the University of Louisiana-Monroe at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

"As we begin our ninth season the schedule is becoming more balanced," said Howard Schnellenberger, FAU's football head coach. "We have the challenges of Nebraska and South Carolina on the road and the ever-improving Sun Belt Conference, as well as hosting Wyoming at Lockhart and traveling to UAB."

The five-game home schedule is comprised of SBC members ULM, Middle Tennessee State University, Arkansas State University and Western Kentucky University. The University of Wyoming will round out the 2009 home schedule.
