FAU Wednesday Spring Practice Report

March 31, 2008

Spring practice resumed for the Florida Atlantic University football team on Monday afternoon outside the Tom Oxley Center. The Owls were in full pads for full contact drills.

Monday, the Owls worked on a number of individual drills. FAU worked at half speed, using this day as a tutorial for most of the second-unit players hoping to see playing time in the fall. Jeff VanCamp worked with the first unit. During most of the offensive drills, the Owls worked extensively on running plays, most of the running was done by DiIvory Edgecomb, along with Alfred Morris and David Muniz. The receivers worked exclusively on a number of routes, as FAU looks for a second go-to option alongside Cortez Gent. Chris Bonner, Lester Jean, Grant Glover, and Wilfred Rivera among others ran a number of patterns from the scout team. The defense worked on a number of individual workout drills. Most of the starters saw limited action. However, Josh Savidge continues to be a mainstay during spring ball. And Michael Lockley and Edward Breadwell worked on a number of drills for a linebacker unit looking to replace Cergile Sincere.

FAU will resume practice on Wednesday, April 2 outside the Tom Oxley Athletic Center at 3:30 p.m. All spring practice sessions are open to the public. The Owls will practice on Monday's, Wednesday's, Friday's and scrimmage on Saturday's at 2 p.m. until April 19, when FAU holds it spring game at the FAU Track and Field Complex.
