Avery Holley Signed Thursday with FAU

Boca Raton, FL - Avery Holley, an Ely High School senior, signed a National Letter of Intent on Thursday to bring Florida Atlantic University's 2006 freshman signing class to 21, announced head coach Howard Schnellenberger, Thursday.

Holley, the 6A Broward Male Athlete of the Year, chose FAU one day after the nation's signing day and will have the opportunity to play both football and basketball at FAU.

"We are very excited about an athlete of his caliber joining our program," said Schnellenberger. "He is an outstanding two-sport athlete who has the ability to challenge right away."

High School: Played for coach McGruit at Ely High School where he tallied 784 yards on 29 receptions...scored 14 TDs, defensively had four interceptions, as a senior...earned All-County honors as a senior and was the 6A Broward Male Athlete of the Year...was an All-State football and basketball recipient...Ely player of the year and a participant in the Broward North/South All-Star Game as well as the Broward/Dade All-Star Game...also considered Akron, Miami and Georgia Tech...two-sport athlete (football and basketball, currently averaging 21.0 points per game).
