2008: Played in six games...recorded seven tackles on the year, three solo...recorded five in the North Texas game, three solo...had one tackle for a loss of two yards...forced a fumble versus North Texas...recorded a quarterback hurry versus ULL and two versus CMU...broke up a pass against FIU...credited with a pass broken up and three quarterback hurries which tied for the team lead.

2007: Used the year as a redshirt season.

High School: Played for Chris Merritt at Columbus High School, where he recorded 69 tackles, including nine sacks and 11 total for a loss...credited with eight quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries...as a junior, he recorded 75 tackles, including 12 sacks and 15 for a loss...played in the Dade versus Broward All-Star Game...two-sport athlete (football and baseball).

Personal: Criminal justice major...son of Mildred and Arthur Givens...born Dec. 22, 1988, in Miami, FL...relatives Include Tim Lester, who was a 10th round draft pick by the Los Angelos Rams where he played for three seasons...played with Pittsburgh for four seasons and Dallas his final year...totaled 331 yard receiving and 126 yards on the ground with two TDs...and Fred Lester, who was with the New York Jets in 1994, Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1995 and the Atlanta Falcons in 1997.
