Question from Rosa
I would like to wish all of the FAU basketball family good luck
on the upcoming season. My question to you coach is do you have the
release
date for your new media guide for the upcoming season. Also, will you
have
new posters this year?
Response from Head Coach Rex Walters
Rosa,
Thank you for the kind words! Talking with Mike Boseak from Sports
Information, he indicated to me that the Media Guide will be available
in mid to late October. I know that we have taken photos as well for
the team poster, but I don't know what Dexter Lamont from Marketing has
decided to do just yet in terms of a concept. I was very proud of the
team poster from last year and I'm looking forward to seeing what
Dexter has come up with for this year. Thanks for the questions, keep
them coming and I hope to see you at all of the home games!
Sincerely,
Rex Walters

Question from Greg
Hi Coach!
We've heard they're going to be adding seats on the north side of the
Burrow
to make it into a "bowl".
However, there is a wall awfully close there and I'm wondering if
they're
going to be knocking down + pushing back the northern wall to fit in
the new
seats?
Also, will we ever get one of those suspended TV/scoreboards hanging
down in
the middle of the arena, like they have in professional basketball? How
much
do those cost anyway?
Thanks for everything. All of us in Owl Country are looking forward to
Dec.1st!
Response from Head Coach Rex Walters
Greg,
Thanks for the email! There will indeed be more seating at both
in-zones of the playing floor. I'm not sure about how many rows but
the court will be surrounded by seats! There is no need to knock down
walls for this to happen, so don't worry about anymore actual
restructuring of the Arena. Our new scoreboard will be on the Northern
Wall (just like the last one) but will a lot more things to look at
compared to the old scoreboard. I don't think we have a need for one
hanging down from the roof, but I'm sure they thought of that and gave
it some consideration. We are all counting the days to get back in
there. It is truly going to be a great place to watch our Owl teams
play (men's basketball, women's basketball and women's volleyball).
You will be proud to be walking into "The Burrow" come October.
Go Owls,
Rex Walters
