Green and Cowans Serve on Panel

April 1, 2004

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University men's basketball player Jeff Cowans and head coach Sidney Green were among members of a recent panel that discussed violence prevention. The "brown bag" discussion took place on FAU's Boca Raton campus and included students, professors, and coaches.

The topic of the panel was "Changing Our Community" with an emphasis on violence prevention. The informal discussion focused on ways that masculinity is associated with violence and its relationship to violence against women.

Cowans recently completed a four-year career in which he became the second all-time leading scorer in FAU history with 1,388 points. Green just completed his fifth year as head coach of the Owls.
