BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Mike Bell can add another award to his collection of honors. The senior was an All-America Honorable Mention selection by the Associated Press, becoming the first player in FAU history to receive such an honor.

The honor comes three weeks after Bell was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Year. The Raleigh, NC, native averaged 19.1 points and 9.3 points per game last year as a senior, both tops in the A-Sun. He had 14 double-doubles, scored at least 20 points 14 times, and was named A-Sun Player-of-the-Week three times.

In just two years at FAU, he became one of two players to post 1,000 points (1,001) and 500 rebounds (514) in a career. Bell also is FAU's all-time leader with 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He holds an FAU single-game record with 23 rebounds. Bell was a five-time A-Sun Player-of-the-Week honoree in his career.

AP announced three All-America teams totaling 15 players. Bell was among 44 players who received honorable mention.
