BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University concludes its two-game homestand Saturday night against Jacksonville University. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm at FAU Gymnasium, and the game can be heard on www.fausports.com. FAU enters the game 8-14 overall and 5-10 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Jacksonville is 11-12 and 6-10 in the A-Sun. The Owls are in eighth place, a half-game behind the seventh-place Dolphins. The Owls will be trying to snap a six-game losing streak. FAU's last outing was its second straight overtime affair as the Owls were defeated by Stetson 76-72 on Thursday. In that game, Mike Bell set an FAU record with 23 rebounds. Bell leads the Owls with 19.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He is second in the A-Sun in points and first in rebounds. Earnest Crumbley scored 21 against Stetson and now is 57 points away from becoming FAU's all-time leading scorer. The senior has scored 1,445 points and is second only to Craig Buchanan's 1,501 scored from 1993-97. The Dolphins are coming off a 78-69 loss at UCF on Thursday. Overall, JU has won five of its past seven games after a six-game losing streak started by FAU on January 9. David Lee leads the team with 14.0ppg while Haminn Quaintance is second with 13.7. Quaintance leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per game. This is the 16th meeting between the two teams with Jacksonville holding a 10-5 series edge. The Owls defeated the Dolphins, 87-67, January 9 in Jacksonville. All but one game of the series have been decided by nine points or more. FAU is 2-4 at home with its last win coming January 18, 2001. Tickets are available at the door. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
