Men's Basketball to Face JSU

JACKSONVILLE, AL -- Florida Atlantic University continues its road trip Saturday night with an Atlantic Sun Conference match-up at Jacksonville State University. The game begins at 8:00pm EST at Pete Mathews Coliseum. FAU enters the game with a 5-13 record and a 1-5 mark in the A-Sun while Mercer is 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the A-Sun. FAU is coming off a 66-64 loss at Georgia State on Thursday night. Earnest Crumbley, who missed a three as time expired that would have won the game for the Owls, had 16 points in the loss and surpassed 1,000 career points. Chris Thomas also had 16 for the Owls. Crumbley continues to lead the team with 16.4 points per game while Jeff Cowans is averaging 13.9. Senior Nick Neumann has posted four consecutive double-doubles for the Owls. He leads the team with 13.5 points and 12.3 rebounds per game during the stretch. JSU enters the game 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the A-Sun but has lost its last three games. The Gamecocks are in third place in the A-Sun North. Omar Barlett leads the team with 16.6 points per game. Poonie Richardson is averaging 15.4. FAU leads the all-time series 7-4 and has won four of the past five meetings, including all three a year ago. The teams last met in last year's A-Sun Tournament. FAU won that battle, 55-47, in the semifinals. FAU is 2-3 at JSU. The game will not be broadcast on the radio or the internet.
