Owls Nipped By Bisons, 68-66
Jan. 23, 2005 Lipscomb 68, Florida Atlantic 66 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Brian Fisk scored 14 points and made a steal as time expired to lift Lipscomb to a 68-66 victory over Florida Atlantic on Sunday. Neither team scored in the final 1:40, as the Bisons (9-7, 4-5 Atlantic Sun Conference) turned the ball over twice and missed two free throws but managed to hang on. Florida Atlantic (4-13, 4-6) finished the game on a 9-0 run, but missed two layups and a 3-pointer with 9 seconds left before Fisk's steal. The Owls squandered a 15-point first half lead after Kahleaf Watson's free throw made it 29-14 with 8:11 left. Trailing 43-40 at the half, Lipscomb took the lead for good on a 9-0 run to open the second half that included five points from Cameron Robinson, who finished with 12. Jason Guyette scored 16 points, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, while Shaun Durant scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bisons. Florida Atlantic's Mike Bell scored 18 points, Pierre Tucker added 17 and Rodney Webb had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
