Final Stats

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University (6-5, 3-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) never led in falling to Jacksonville University, 73-58, Wednesday night in Boca Raton. FAU's Raheim Brown led all scorers with 21 points to go along with 10 rebounds. James Daniels led JU (9-4, 3-1 A-Sun) with 17 points while Kevin Sheppard had 16. JU's Calvin Warner also had nine points and a career-high 18 rebounds.

JU jumped out to a 25-10 lead with 11:01 left in the first half before the Owls managed to close the gap to four points with 2:52 left before the break. JU would respond with a late first-half rally to lead 42-29 at the half. Daniels, who finished 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, nailed down four treys in the first half.

The Dolphins continued to hold off surges by the Owls in the second half as FAU was only able to pull as close as six points on a couple of occasions. The final blow by JU came on a Sheppard three-pointer with 2:12 left that gave the Dolphins a 66-57 lead.

"They showed a lot more hustle than us tonight," said FAU head coach Sidney Green as JU outrebounded FAU 48-33. The Dolphins also outshot the Owls 44 percent to 36 percent. Earnest Crumbley added 12 points for the Owls.

FAU next hosts Georgia State Saturday at 7:00pm.
