Amy Fortney joined Florida Atlantic University in August of 2007 to work with the University's academic services department, before moving into the men's basketball office as an administrative assistant.
She came to FAU after working a year at The Godolphin School in Salisbury, England as a lacrosse coach and physical education teacher.
Fortney had previously worked with the Kansas City Girls Lacrosse Team as the head coach of the varsity and junior varsity teams during the 2006 season and served as a strategic tutor for the University of Kansas football and men's basketball teams from 2001-05.
The Syracuse, NY native received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Kansas in 2002 before obtaining her master's degree in education in 2005 from Kansas. She transferred to Kansas from Hamilton College, where she was a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field team.
