A student assistant for Florida Atlantic University's men's basketball program since 2007, Brian Berlingo will serve as the Owls' head team manager in 2008-09.
Berlingo's first collegiate position came during the 2007-08 season as a student assistant with Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida.
A native of Massapequa, New York, Berlingo served as the Assistant Men's Varsity Coach at Massapequa's Plainedge High School from 2003-2005. He later coached at New York's St. Anthony's High School in 2006, contributing to a sports program that was ranked No. 1 in the state by Sports Illustrated in that same year.
Additionally, he has gained experience working at both the University of Kansas and University of Florida basketball camps and Long Island's All-America basketball camp.
Berlingo played prep basketball at St. John the Baptist High School. He has three sisters Meghan (19), Lauren (17) and Erin (8). Meghan is the starting goalkeeper for the nationally ranked University of Florida women's soccer program. Lauren has recently committed to play the same position at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
